Leasing Agent - Salem/Keizer Area

At SMI Property Management, we are committed to building a strong team of professionals who provide exceptional service to both property owners and residents. We are currently seeking a motivated, customer-focused Leasing Agent to join our team and support leasing efforts across multiple properties in the Salem–Keizer area.

OVERVIEW:  The Leasing Agent is responsible for responding to prospective tenant inquiries, conducting property showings, and communicating with applicants throughout the leasing process. This role serves as the primary point of contact for prospects from initial inquiry through application submission, ensuring a positive and professional leasing experience. The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, and comfortable working independently while managing showings at multiple locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond promptly and professionally to prospective tenant inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms
  • Schedule and conduct property tours at multiple communities
  • Provide accurate information regarding availability, pricing, and property policies
  • Build rapport with prospective tenants and represent SMI Property Management in a professional manner
  • Answer leasing-related questions
  • Follow-up with prospects to encourage completed applications and maintain leasing momentum
  • Update and maintain accurate leasing notes and prospect information in property management software
  • Coordinate with property management and maintenance teams regarding unit availability and readiness
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and company leasing policies
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, pricing, and competing properties

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or property management
  • Valid Driver's License (required)
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple properties and appointments
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between properties (required)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., Appfolio, Tenant Tech, or similar)

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Pay: From $22.00 per hour, plus commission

Schedule: Full-time | Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Based out of our Keizer office with frequent travel to properties. This is not a remote position.
