Maintenance Technician

 

Job Description:

 

SMI Property Management is a locally owned and operated property management company poised for growth and looking to expand our maintenance department. We have permanent full-time positions available and are seeking motivated individuals to join our team! We are an excellence driven company that strives to maintain the highest quality in all the work we do. We offer competitive wages, health insurance benefits and paid time off after the first year.

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

 

Common duties/responsibilities for this position may include:

 

  • Routinely perform a wide variety of building maintenance and mechanical work
  • Repair and service electrical fixtures (light fixtures, outlets, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors)
  • Inspect, repair and service minor plumbing and installations. (Sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, leaky pipes, etc.)
  • Perform general drywall repair and painting
  • Repair fences, decks
  • Install vinyl/laminate flooring
  • Repair/replace interior & exterior pre-hung doors/slabs
  • Clean property grounds of trash and debris
  • Excellent communication skills with residents and property management
  • Maintain a professional and clean appearance and worksite
  • Complete all work orders in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned and which relate to the success of the company and satisfaction of both the residents and clients

 

Requirements:

 

  • Maintenance experience preferred
  • Must have own tools
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, company vehicle possible
  • Must be able to follow directions and learn quickly
  • Must have a positive and helpful attitude with a team mentality, but also able to work well independently
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must pay attention to detail, be service oriented, and have an excellent work ethic
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug screening as allowable by law



 

 

Cleaner

 

Job description:

 

SMI Property Management is now hiring experienced cleaning personnel for vacant unit preparation and cleaning!

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

 

Qualified Applicants should have the following abilities:

 

  • Experience in vacant unit apartment cleaning
  • Have valid Oregon Driver's license
  • Work thoroughly, efficiently and independently
  • Be a team player with a positive and flexible attitude
  • Able to work with a variety of different people

 

About this position:

 

  • Company vehicle & cleaning supplies provided
  • 1 week paid vacation after first year
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to pass a background check

 



 

Leasing Agent

 
Job description:


SMI Property Management is seeking a seasoned and professional full time leasing agent to join our Portland team, based at our Portland office 10626 SW Barbur Blvd. This position will cover a variety of properties throughout the Portland Metro area. Duties include marketing, leasing, prospect & tenant relations, and support to the Portfolio Manager as needed. Travel from the work office to property sites to conduct showings will be required, and you will be furnished with a company vehicle. Driving is an essential part of the position, and the successful candidate will need to have a clean driving history. 


What we’re looking for:


  • 3-5 years of prior marketing and leasing experience in multifamily housing. 
  • Intermediate Computer skills including MS outlook, Word, Excel 
  • Experience using online marketing tools such as Zillow and Craigslist 
  • Experience with AppFolio and Tenant Tech a plus
  • Must have attention to detail, and exceptional organizational and follow through skills 


What we offer:


  • Hourly pay $21.00 -$23.00
  • Leasing Commission on each unit rented
